BIOGRAPHY

Photography has always been in the blood of Ukrainian-born photographer Val Proudkii. Born in Kiev in 1963, in the family ofa physician, Val Proudkii initially studied Economics. At the age of seven, Val's father gave him a camera, a Russian-made Leica Zenit, for his birthday. Val has been taking pictures ever since. Inspired by the works of Henri Cartier-Bresson and Brassai, Val began using his camera to capture the scenes he saw on the streets of various cities and small villages around the world...

“Val Proudkii is a photographer of the “aha”—the moment in which the visually striking is discovered within the visually common. It is the triumph of the extraordinary unlocked from within the mundane. You are inextricably drawn in to find out more”
